Graduate Program: Neuroscience

Education:

BS - Mathematics w/ Chemistry minor, 2007, Davidson College, Davidson, NC

Research:
Currently, I'm in the first year of the Neuroscience PhD program (my 3rd year in the MD/PhD program). My primary project is investigating the neuroprotective properties of T-type calcium channel blockers in the mouse pilocarpine model of status epilepticus and temporal lobe epilepsy. Our lab recently published a paper in the Journal of Neuroscience demonstrating the importance of T-type calcium channels in the pathophysiology of this model. I'm also working with other members of our lab investigating diurnal rhythms of activity and temperature in a murine repeated ethanol withdrawal paradigm.
